Consejos para mejores resultados

  • Always start from the largest original you have. Upscaling a version that was already downsized compounds the loss.
  • Try 2× before 4×. Doubling often solves the problem with far less visible softening.
  • Graphics with flat colour and hard edges - logos, icons, line art - upscale much better than photographs.
  • If the source is a logo, check whether an SVG exists. Vector art scales infinitely with no loss at all, which beats any upscaler.
  • Judge the result at the size it will actually be used. An image that looks soft at 100% zoom may be perfectly fine printed small or viewed on a phone.

Errores a evitar

  • Expecting an upscaler to recover detail. Nothing can add information the camera never captured - "enhance" is a film trope, not a capability.
  • Using 4× on a very small image and being surprised by the softness. The bigger the jump, the more is invented.
  • Trying to fix a blurry photo by enlarging it, which enlarges the blur too.
  • Upscaling a heavily compressed JPG, where the compression artefacts get magnified along with the image.
  • Upscaling a logo when the original vector file exists somewhere - that always gives a perfect result instead of an approximated one.
