A password is strong when guessing it is impractical, and that comes from two things: randomness and length. Randomness is the part people are worst at. A password you invent yourself follows patterns - a name, a year, a capital at the front, an exclamation mark at the end - and attackers model those patterns directly, which is why "P@ssw0rd123" is worthless despite meeting every complexity rule. Length is the part that does the heavy lifting: each extra character multiplies the search space, so adding four characters helps far more than adding one symbol. This generator uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator, the same class of source used for encryption keys, rather than the ordinary random function that is predictable enough to be attacked. Nothing is transmitted and nothing is stored - passwords are produced on your device and disappear when you close the page. The more important point is what you do next: a strong password reused across accounts is still a weak position, because one breach exposes all of them.
