À propos de cet outil

Bold text on Instagram, X or WhatsApp isn't real bold - none of those apps have a bold button, and if you paste HTML <b> tags they just show up as literal text. What actually works is a trick: Unicode assigned separate codepoints for mathematical bold, sans-bold, bold italic and other bold-looking letterforms decades ago, originally for typesetting equations. Those characters LOOK bold in any font that supports them, and because they're just ordinary text (not formatting), they paste into a bio field exactly like any other character. This tool remaps your text onto six of those bold-family blocks so you can pick whichever weight and style fits.

Comment utiliser cet outil

  1. Type your textEnter a name, bio line or short phrase - up to 200 characters.
  2. Compare the six bold stylesBold, Sans Bold, Bold Italic, Sans Bold Italic, Bold Script and Fraktur update live as you type.
  3. Copy the one you wantTap the copy icon next to a style - it copies just that variant, ready to paste.

Pourquoi l’utiliser

  • Six distinct bold styles instead of one - Fraktur and Bold Script read completely differently from plain math bold.
  • Real Unicode characters, not an image or HTML - pastes into any plain-text field.
  • Nothing is uploaded; the remap happens instantly in your browser.
  • No character limit games - works for a single emoji-adjacent symbol or a full bio.

Usages courants

  • Making a display name or headline stand out in an Instagram or TikTok bio.
  • Emphasising one line of a WhatsApp or Discord status without any formatting menu.
  • Bolding a heading inside a plain-text README, forum post, or chat message.
  • Drafting a few bold variants to compare before picking one for a business card mockup.

Conseils pour de meilleurs résultats

  • Sans Bold reads cleaner at small sizes than Bold (the math-serif block) - try both if a bio looks cramped.
  • Only A-Z, a-z and 0-9 have bold Unicode forms; punctuation and most symbols are left as your original character.
  • Fraktur is closer to blackletter/gothic than "bold" in the usual sense - preview it before committing to a whole name.
  • If a platform strips unrecognised characters, WhatsApp and Instagram bios accept these; older or very locked-down input fields sometimes do not.

Erreurs à éviter

  • Pasting styled Unicode bold into a resume or legal document - it will not match your document font and can look broken when printed or opened in Word.
  • Expecting it to be searchable identically to plain text - "𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨" and "Hello" are different characters to a search index.
  • Using it for a whole paragraph - dense Unicode bold across many lines becomes harder to read, not easier.
  • Assuming every app renders every style - test Fraktur and Bold Script specifically, since some fonts substitute a fallback glyph for rarer blocks.

Questions fréquentes

It is a trick, but a completely standard one: these are real Unicode characters from the "Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols" block that happen to render as bold in virtually every font. They are not a font change or HTML formatting - just different characters that look bold.

Instagram, X, WhatsApp and most social apps only accept plain text, with no rich-text formatting. This tool sidesteps that by using bold-LOOKING characters instead of bold FORMATTING, so it pastes in as plain text that happens to display bold.

Screen readers vary - some read the bold Unicode letters correctly, others announce them oddly or skip them, since they are technically distinct characters from the alphabet. Avoid using styled bold for anything accessibility-critical, and do not rely on it for text that needs to be found by exact search.

They come from different Unicode blocks originally meant for different uses in mathematical typesetting - Bold and Sans Bold are the closest to normal bold, Bold Italic and Sans Bold Italic slant, and Bold Script and Fraktur are decorative variants. Compare them live since they read very differently at bio size.

No - it is free, runs entirely in your browser, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
