FAQ

Can I open DWG files here?

No. DWG is Autodesk's closed, proprietary format and cannot be read in a browser. Export your drawing as DXF from your CAD program first - in AutoCAD that is Save As, then AutoCAD DXF. DXF is an openly published format, which is why it can be supported.

Which entities are supported?

Lines, polylines, arcs, circles, ellipses, splines, block inserts and text all render. Dimensions, hatches and leaders are parsed but not drawn - the tool tells you exactly which entity types it skipped rather than silently producing an incomplete drawing.

Why does my file fail to open?

The most common cause is a binary DXF. Re-save it as ASCII DXF from your CAD program and it will open. Very large files can also take a moment to parse, since everything happens on your own machine.

What is the difference between the SVG, PNG and PDF exports?

SVG stays fully vector, so it scales to any size without quality loss and can be edited in Illustrator or Inkscape. PNG is a fixed-resolution image at whatever width you choose. PDF is fitted to A4 in the drawing's own orientation, ready to print.
