What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Some are essential for a site to work; others help us understand usage. ToolBox keeps optional analytics cookies off until you choose Accept on the cookie banner.
Cookies we use
Essential
- tb_cookie_consent - remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics cookies on the banner. Stored for 12 months, first-party only, not used for advertising or tracking. You can change this any time below.
- Site preferences - settings such as favourite tools may be saved in your browser (local storage) so the site remembers them. These are not used for advertising.
Analytics (optional - only if you click Accept)
If you click Accept, we may use:
- Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js) - page views and tool-usage events, to see which tools are popular and fix problems.
- First-party usage telemetry - anonymous path + referrer host sent to our API so we can improve the product. This may set a short-lived session cookie on our API host.
If you click Reject, we do not load Google Analytics and we do not send usage telemetry. Your choice is saved in the essential cookie above until it expires (12 months) or you clear site cookies.
What we do not do
We do not use advertising cookies, sell personal data, or upload your tool files for tracking. File processing for most tools happens in your browser.
