PNG, JPG, WEBP · max 15 images · max 15 MB each · runs on your device
Each image becomes a page. Text is recognised with on-device OCR and placed as an invisible layer so the PDF is searchable. For a scanned PDF instead of images, use PDF to OCR.
OCR to PDF turns photos or scans of documents into a real searchable PDF. Each image becomes a page, and on-device OCR adds an invisible text layer so you can select words, copy them, and use Find in any PDF reader. Nothing is uploaded - recognition runs in your browser with the same Tesseract engine as OCR Image to Text. Clean, straight, high-contrast scans produce the best accuracy. Up to 15 images and 15 MB per file are supported.

Common uses

- Making scanned homework or notes findable later.

- Digitising paper receipts so expenses can be searched.
Tips for better results
- Shoot pages flat, well lit, and fill the frame - skew and shadows hurt accuracy.
- Crop margins before converting when possible.
- Prefer 150–300 DPI scans over tiny screenshots.
- For an already-scanned PDF, use PDF to OCR instead of exporting pages first.
Mistakes to avoid
- Expecting handwriting to OCR perfectly - printed text works best.
- Using a blurry angled photo and blaming the tool.
- Uploading a multi-page PDF here - use PDF to OCR for that.
- Skipping proofreading on numbers and names.
