dynamic_form Fill PDF Form

A fillable PDF stores real form fields - text boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons and dropdowns - inside the file. Filling them here writes into those AcroForm fields in your browser, so the values survive when you open the downloaded PDF in Adobe Reader, Preview or another viewer. If the PDF is not fillable yet, Edit Form lets you place new fields on the page, then switch back to Fill Form to complete them. Nothing is uploaded: the file is read and written locally with pdf-lib, which matters for tax forms, HR paperwork and anything else confidential.

How to use this tool

1. Add your PDFDrop a fillable form or a blank PDF. Fields are detected automatically and listed in the sidebar.
2. Fill or editUse Fill Form to type into fields, tick checkboxes and pick dropdown values. Switch to Edit Form to click on the page and add new text, checkbox, radio or dropdown fields.
3. Review in the field listThe Form Field List shows every field by page. Click a name to jump to it and edit its value.
4. DownloadExport a filled PDF. Optionally flatten fields so values become permanent page content and can no longer be changed.

Tips for better results

• If no fields appear, the PDF may be a flat scan. Use Edit Form to place fields, or OCR first if you need selectable text.
• Flatten only when you are done - flattened fields cannot be edited later.
• Password-protected PDFs need Unlock PDF before form fields can be read.
• For a signature scribble rather than a form signature field, use PDF E-Signature.
• Check the sidebar count against the document - hidden or off-page widgets sometimes exist in poorly built forms.

Mistakes to avoid

• Expecting a scanned paper form to be fillable. Scans are images until someone adds AcroForm fields.
• Flattening too early and losing the ability to correct a typo.
• Uploading sensitive forms to an online filler that stores files on a server. This tool never uploads.
