Aura Filter: what it does and how to use it

A colour grade in seven presets. Aura Filter layers a bloom pass, a colour wash, film grain and a vignette over your photo, then puts a bold title across the bottom and exports it story-size. It is a stylised filter - the same idea as a camera app preset - not an AI edit: nothing is generated, no face is detected, replaced or analysed, and the photo never leaves your browser.

Most people open this because a photo is too big, in the wrong format, or they do not want to install an editor for a two-minute job.

Do this, in order

1. Add a photo. Drop a file in, browse for one, or use your camera on a phone or laptop.
2. Pick a vibe. Each preset sets all five sliders at once. Main Character is warm and punchy; Villain Era is cold and high-contrast.
3. Fine tune. Nudge glow, grain, contrast, saturation and vignette until it looks like you meant it.
4. Title and save. Keep the preset title or type your own, then download the PNG in 9:16 or 1:1.

If you want a clean result

• Glow above about 60 blows out faces - back it off if the photo is a close portrait.
• Grain hides compression artefacts, so a small amount helps photos that have been re-shared a few times.
• A short title in the display face reads better than a long one; the text is truncated rather than wrapped.

Common mix-ups

• Stacking maximum contrast and maximum vignette, which crushes the shadows into a black ring.
• Downloading while holding the compare button - the tool switches back first, but check the preview before saving.

Private by default

Before you ask

Does this use AI to change my face?

No. It is a colour grade - blur, blend modes, gradients and noise applied over the whole image. No part of the photo is generated, swapped or recognised, and there is no face detection anywhere in the tool.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Everything runs on a canvas in your browser, including camera capture. The photo never touches a server.

Why does the camera preview look mirrored?

Front cameras are mirrored so you can position yourself naturally. The capture is mirrored to match, so the saved photo looks like what you saw.

What resolution is the export?

1600px on the long edge - 900x1600 for a 9:16 story, 1600x1600 for a square.

Can I use my own title?

Yes. Type anything up to 28 characters in the Title box, or leave it blank to use the preset name. You can hide the title entirely with the toggle.

Why is my HEIC photo rejected?

Browsers cannot decode HEIC. Convert it with the HEIC to JPG tool first and bring the JPG back here.
